Omg!!! absolutely adorable shop the woman behind the counter so kind and informative without being overwhelming. Helped me order a large edition of deathnote for my stepson and myself so cheap I was floored! The have game nights playing DND and Warhammer which if I lived closer I would love joining. I absolutely cannot wait for our visit to pick up my book.... oh and you can put in beads for your hogwarts house and vote once a day whomever gets the most beads wins house cup each month and they celebrate Harry Potters Birthday with a party I am hoping to make it this year since I know know will bring friends!!!

We stopped at The Shire Bookstore on our way from TN to Paducah. It was #91 in our quest to visit independent bookstores across the US. The Shire is located in what would be described as a nondescript strip mall. Don't judge a book by the cover. Anna Tobey was interested, interesting, and involved. She holds fun activities, like a birthday party for Harry Potter. Like new, well priced used books and new ones too. If you live nearby or are passing through, I highly recommend visiting this delightful, small town bookstore. Say hi to Anna!

What types of books do you carry and accept?
We offer both new and used books. We accept donations and buy books, focusing on classics and titles published within the last 5 years to ensure a diverse and current selection for our customers.
Can you place orders for books on my behalf?
Yes, we can place orders for you. It typically takes 3-7 business days to receive them. Feel free to call or text us for assistance.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes, we offer gift cards that can be purchased in-store. They make the perfect gift for book lovers, allowing them to choose their own favorites.
Can I rent a table for WarHammer or D&D games?
Yes, we rent out tables for up to 4 hours. For WarHammer enthusiasts, we also offer Build and Paint sessions on Fridays from 4:30-6 PM, and a monthly gameplay event. Please call us to check availability and make a reservation.
Do you offer crochet classes, and when can I attend?
Yes, we offer crochet classes on Thursdays. You can call us to select a 45-minute time slot that fits your schedule to join a class.
